ABOUT Liz and The Carousel Closet

Welcome to the Carousel Closet! My name is Liz, and I am married with two children of my own. My daughter, Abigail is three, and my son, Adam is one. When I say, I understand how fast they grow, I truly mean it. I am also a nurse, and it’s a career I truly enjoy. The Carousel Closet Children’s Consignment event is a great way for families to make extra money, while also supporting a great cause – Shriners Hospitals for Children.

I am so excited you’ve chosen to share your consignment experience with me, as we both journey to have the best for our children at affordable prices. We all know that our children grow entirely too fast, and that means changing clothing every season or even sooner. I want to offer a fun and exciting way to help with the burden of changing those wardrobes out. You can also have a place to sell and buy items such as crib bedding, strollers, toys, highchairs and more! If your children have outgrown it, it’s an item you can earn some money on! Our most popular brands are Gap, Hannah Andersson, Mini Boden, Gymboree, Patagonia, Northface, Cat & Jack, and more!

Shriners Hospitals for Children

Carousel Closet is honored to make a private donation to Shriners Hospitals for Children after our events

HOW IT WORKS

Carousel Closet is a biannual event where families have the opportunity to come together to shop/sell (or do both!) for their kids! We sell new and gently used designer clothing (ages newborn-12), toys, books, baby equipment, including strollers, highchairs and more! Moms and dads who wish to sell their children’s items are able to do so here, with no registration fee! As a consignor, you will receive 70% of your sold items (you decide on your own price). Simply register, prep, tag and drop off your items, and receive your check in the mail!
Also, now consignors have the opportunity to earn even more! By volunteering two hours of your time to help us during the sale - you will not only get the an early pass to our best deals - you will earn 80% of your sold items! Register now, as our places fill out quick!

Prepare your items

Please make sure all items you intend to sell are clean. Clothes need to be washed and ironed if needed, placed on plastic hangers (the hanger should make the question mark sign (?) when you look at the front of the garment) You can pin pants to plastic hangers with the use of safety pins. With smaller items, we encourage you group them together with safety pins as well. Complete outfits attract more buyers! You are welcome to use Ziploc bags for smallest items for ex. socks, tights etc. (we accept items from newborn to size 12)

Tag your items using directions below

You can enter items and print tags here.

Once you print your tags from your computer, (using our online system) you attach them to your clothing using a safety pin. We recommend cardstock paper, which has a smaller chance of your tag ripping. Some consignors decide to use a tag gun, which is fine – they can be purchased at Amazon.

Drop off/Pick up of items

Prepped and tagged items need to be dropped off directly at the place of event. Time can be chosen by consignors once registered. Any unsold items need to be picked up last day of sale, as follows:
Consignors with last name that starts with letters A-M 6pm-7pm Consignors with last name that starts with letters N-Z 7pm-8pm Any items marked to donate will be picked up by Kids Pantry at the end of the event.

Receive your check and any items that did not sell

The checks will be mailed out to our consignors the week following the event. Any unsold items need to be picked up by consignors, right after our event. Consignors have the option to donate any of those items. Donations will be made to The Kids Pantry, Mount Prospect, IL
